The weekend
Three days. One crew. The bush does the rest.
Order of events may shift with weather and conditions. Your guides have final call.
Friday
- Meet in Perth early afternoon and ride out together.
- By mid-afternoon you're on site, kitted up and briefed.
- Locky opens the weekend, then you are straight into it: build your shelter, then make fire the hard way and the smart way.
- Dinner around the fire, and Locky tells the stories he doesn't tell on camera.
- A short night navigation exercise, then your first night in a swag under a WA sky.
Saturday
- Up with the sun. Today is the craft: finding, filtering and purifying water.
- Navigating with a map, a compass and the sun instead of a phone.
- Upgrading your shelter and learning the knots that actually matter.
- Signalling for rescue so someone can find you.
- Late afternoon, the challenge: teams, a real task, and Locky judging.
- Dinner, the result, and a fireside Q&A. If you want it, there's a supervised solo hour before bed.
Sunday
- The traverse. Teams, a course across the property, and everything from the weekend put to work.
- Debrief, certificates, your Outback+ patch, and a photo you'll actually keep.
- Lunch, strike camp together, and you're back in Perth by late afternoon.

Fitness

You can walk 5km over uneven ground with a daypack and sleep two nights on the ground.
No experience needed. Not suitable for unmanaged heart conditions or mobility limitations. Health declaration at booking.
You will not be starved. This is a premium trip, not a hunger challenge.
Safety
Licensed WA operator, contracting now.
Run with a licensed WA outdoor operator who holds the permits and public liability. Medic on site. Satellite comms at all times. Locky hosts and teaches; the operator's lead guide has final call on the ground.

- If the fire danger rating or a severe weather warning makes it unsafe inside 72 hours, we postpone or refund. We do not run it anyway.
